'Freedom' means freedom from Domestic Violence. My children and I are Domestic
Violence Survivors and these candles are a product of love and hope from that journey.
In
1996, my children and I were able to break free from a home filled with Domestic
Violence. Once free, education and healing from that situation could begin. This
happened with the help of a local Domestic Violence Program and the wonderful
counselors and people involved with that agency.
During the time of healing, my children and I learned to relax and once again be
ourselves. One of the things that we found relaxing was to burn candles. Candles
smelled nice and set the mood for nice cuddling and pillow talks about our
"new" family. After a period of healing, it was time to move on, and I wanted to
give something back. The Freedom Candle Company is that something.
In
1998 I met a wonderful man named Paul. Paul has been a large factor in the
development of The Freedom Candle Company. With his love and help, MY dream
became OUR reality. The children and I found out what it was to be a "normal"
family. A safe and violence-free family. The Freedom Candle Company
a "family company" - was born.
The Freedom Candle Company, makes hand-poured, strongly scented,
Treasure Candles and Votive Candles. Part of the proceeds from each
candle sale goes to local Domestic Violence programs to help other families
break free from domestic violent situations. If you would like
